If young Muslims meet people for the first time and discover that they are Muslims, often one of the first questions they ask is: "Prayer?" It's like this is their litmus test for whether the person they have met a true Muslim or not. They call him a Muslim is one thing, a Muslim something else. We all know the benefits, not true that praying five times a day in the heart of Islam?
It is one of the things that a Muslim is different from everyone else in the world that all activities in the life of prayer and praise, we offer important to the Almighty God. Why we have such a problem that faithful to prayer?
I `Umrah performed for the first time last April. This was one of the most important experiences of my life, and it still has its influence on me. The proximity of the Ka `bah was a deeply moving experience. ) As to the place where our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him, like all prophets had prayed for him and that was incredible. One thing that struck me most in Mecca, even during the call to prayer for Fajr sounded, the morning prayer. Thousands of people shows in every direction and the direction of the Ka `bah led in prayer. Get up in the middle of the night was not difficult, because the moving experience of prayer, which was Ka` bah so. On the moment, dealing with the large crowd, I could not help thinking that most home. Those who get up and go to the mosque for dawn prayers are certainly a minority, is not it? Away from Mecca, is the too easy to completely ignore adhan and stay in the comfort of her bed.
In a very special occasion, such as Ramadan, or when we go on pilgrimage, he seems so much easier to be faithful to prayer and take Islam more seriously. How many of us, for example, gathered to pray Taraweeh in the mosque during Ramadan, though sometimes miss one or two of the prescribed prayers? It is a paradox of life that we are so good, but we find ourselves falling into old traps and do things we later regret.
How strange that we as humans! We can secure for hours aimlessly watching TV or chatting on the net, anyone in particular, and yet we are not set aside ten minutes to pray. We pray, of course, if we want something. Prayer is not a problem for us at any time. It occurs naturally and has no problem. The minute a plane starts to land due to engine failure to appear, even the most religious person on board the hands in prayer. When a loved one suffering from a serious illness or if you really wanted an interview goes well, we pray.
